The Maryland Animal Adoption Center is changing. Susan Beatty, the heart of MAAC, died on October 28th. Sue’s lifelong work to find loving homes for thousands of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens over the years leaves a lasting legacy of love and care for animals. That will continue.
The Board of Directors of MAAC will be meeting in the coming days to define a new path for MAAC. We intend to continue MAAC’s mission to support shelters, organizations, and foster caregivers that embody MAAC’s core principals of assisting underfunded or overloaded shelters to transport animals to areas where local foster volunteers can care for them and place them in loving permanent homes.
MAAC is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. All donations are tax-deductible. The assets of MAAC will be used to make grants and donations, and otherwise support, shelters, small non-profit rescue groups, and dedicated individuals who do the work MAAC is dedicated to. Sue’s family will be making an initial gift to launch the new era of MAAC.
We will update this site with news about the new direction for MAAC and updates on our progress.
